BACKGROUND AND CHALLENGES
Pulmuone has set a GHG reduction target of 12% in raw materials, process, packaging, and logistics by 2025 based on 2021, and is in the process of reducing GHG emissions in these areas. However, GHG emissions are on the rise due to plant expansion and rising investment costs, highlighting the need for companies to have a more systematic and effective carbon emissions management strategy.
As a result, Pulmuone recognized the need for carbon emissions management that is linked to Scope 1 and 2, as well as extended Scope 3 data through the system and its suppliers. This means that Pulmuone needs to establish a more specific and practical carbon emissions reduction strategy through carbon emissions management at the product level.
Against this backdrop, Pulmuone decided to adopt the Salesforce Net Zero Cloud solution to achieve its sustainability goals and realize its environmental responsibility. Salesforce Net Zero Cloud enables Pulmuone to effectively collect, manage, and analyze environmental data across the enterprise in one place, empowering data-driven decision-making and enabling the company to take practical steps toward achieving its carbon emissions reduction goals.
RESULTS
Unified environmental data management: Salesforce Net Zero Cloud has empowered Pulmuone to effectively collect, manage, and analyze environmental data across the company in one place, enhancing its data-driven decision-making process. This has given the company a clearer picture of its environmental impact and enabled it to build strategies based on that information.
Real-time progress monitoring: Net Zero Cloud's dashboards and analytics tools enabled Pulmuone to track its progress in reducing carbon emissions in real time, providing transparency from goal setting to achievement and the ability to make necessary adjustments in a timely manner.
Extended management to Scope 3, including ESH and logistics/travel: By adopting an integrated management system with Salesforce Net Zero Cloud, Pulmuone was able to extend its GHG emissions management to Scope 3 areas such as environment, safety, and health (ESH) and logistics/travel. This paved the way for Pulmuone to more precisely manage and reduce its carbon footprint.
Supporting global business: The adoption of Salesforce Net Zero Cloud enabled carbon emissions management for Pulmuone's global business, including its overseas operations. This enabled Pulmuone to maintain sustainable business operations anywhere in the world.
Establishing a partner portal to collect supplier carbon emissions: Pulmuone collaborated with its suppliers to establish a partner portal to efficiently manage carbon emissions. This enhances the collection and management of carbon emissions across the supply chain and enables suppliers to manage their own carbon emissions.
Managing carbon emissions at the raw material level: By utilizing Net Zero Cloud to manage carbon emissions at the raw material level, Pulmuone is able to calculate carbon emissions per product. This provides a foundation for sustainability considerations at the product development and design stage, and also provides transparent information to end consumers about the environmental impact of products.
Real-time monitoring with consolidated data: By consolidating all data to create a real-time monitoring system with Salesforce Analytics, Pulmuone is able to evaluate the effectiveness of its carbon reduction efforts in real time and make strategic adjustments quickly.
Through the successful application of Salesforce Net Zero Cloud, Pulmuone is laying the foundation for sustainable management, practicing corporate responsibility for environmental protection, and contributing to a better planet for future generations.
